About
Kinnikuman: Muscle Grand Prix 2 Tokumori is a Japanese PlayStation 2 fighting game based on Yudetamago's Kinnikuman manga and anime franchise. It was released in Japan on September 25, 2008 by Bandai Namco Games, with development credited to Syn Sophia, the company formerly known as AKI Corporation.
Tokumori is an expanded home version of the 2007 arcade game Kinnikuman: Muscle Grand Prix 2. Its roster draws from both the original Kinnikuman cast and Kinnikuman II Sei, known outside Japan as Ultimate Muscle, letting the series' Chojin wrestlers face each other in 3D matches.
The game retains an Arcade Mode that brings the arcade version to PlayStation 2. Matches center on the exaggerated wrestling techniques and finishing holds associated with the franchise's characters, so players can stage confrontations between heroes, rivals, and villains from its long-running stories.
Several modes broaden the package beyond standard versus play. Tournament Mode supports original brackets, while Practice Mode provides a place to rehearse moves. A Collection Mode rewards players with gallery material tied to recreating particular techniques and scenes from the source material.
Tokumori also includes a Special section devoted to earlier Kinnikuman games. It contains Muscle Tag Match and Scramble for the Throne, giving the release a built-in look back at two Famicom-era adaptations alongside its contemporary fighting game.
The game arrived as a 29th-anniversary Kinnikuman project and was marketed as a large-volume home release of the arcade Chojin battles. It remains a Japan-only PlayStation 2 entry in the Muscle Grand Prix line, combining the arcade sequel with modes and archival extras tailored to fans of the series.
