About

Kattobi Tune is a Japanese PlayStation racing simulation released by Genki on April 23, 1998. It combines car competition with the everyday planning needed to build a competitive driver and machine.

Players earn money through part-time work, then spend it on tuning their car with a wide range of parts. The game also asks them to manage the driver's schedule and build physical ability through activities such as strength training.

Racing is only one part of the progression. Preparation, vehicle maintenance, and careful spending all affect the route toward stronger performance, while an assist option can handle driving for players who want to concentrate on tuning and character development.

The game offers varied events, including zero-yon drag racing, and its courses change with the seasons and weather. Those changing conditions give car setup and driving a different feel from race to race.

Supervised by the tuning magazine REV SPEED, Kattobi Tune places detailed customization at the center of a light life-simulation framework. Its distinctive structure makes the drive to improve a car inseparable from managing the time and resources needed to race it.
