About
Kimi Ni Todoke - Tsutaeru Kimochi is a romance-focused adventure for Nintendo DS, released in Japan on April 7, 2011. It is the second DS game based on Karuho Shiina's Kimi ni Todoke, continuing after Kimi Ni Todoke - Sodateru Omoi. Players experience the story from the perspective of Sawako Kuronuma, whose sincere but hesitant way of relating to others gives the game its gentle pace.
The story begins when Sawako and her friends enter their second year at Kitahoro High School. Having started a relationship with the popular and considerate Shota Kazehaya, Sawako faces a new school term shaped by changing classes, friendships, rivals, dates, and the school festival. The campaign follows this stretch of the year from spring toward the end of autumn, letting the player's choices steer how the characters' shared memories and relationships develop.
Its official genre is a “pure adventure about conveying feelings,” and the structure is built around arranging circumstances rather than solving action challenges. Each in-game day moves through a cycle of preparing triggers, setting Sawako's intentions, watching events unfold, and tending a flower bed that produces the resources needed for later scenes. The system turns small social decisions into a route through the school year.
At the start of a day, players give different kinds of trigger seeds to characters who are ready for an event. Clues indicate the kind of thought or action Sawako needs to adopt for that scene to occur. Selecting those intentions can also alter her personal attributes, so a choice may be useful both for an immediate conversation and for opening other events later on.
Dialogue scenes occasionally offer responses, and flashbacks can change the available answers. Events affect friendship and the progress of the school-festival preparations, which in turn contribute to different endings. On later playthroughs, the flower bed allows more direct control over which seeds to cultivate, making it easier to pursue events that were missed before.
The game uses new illustrations for its adventure sequences and tells an original story within the series' school-life setting. Familiar faces from Sawako's circle take part alongside the central romance, keeping friendship and everyday misunderstandings as important as the relationship with Kazehaya. The focus is on incremental emotional growth rather than a single dramatic confrontation.
Aquria developed Kimi Ni Todoke - Tsutaeru Kimochi, and Bandai Namco Games published it. Its blend of visual-novel-style scenes, light planning, and relationship-driven branching makes it a continuation designed to let players shape Sawako's second-year school life.
