The game is similar to the Samurai Shodown V Special; however, the player is now capable of using one of six different fighting systems, all of which have their own advantages and disadvantages. Items like bombs and rocks can also be picked up and thrown at the enemy. The game also contains an extensive move list for every character, original and arranged music, and two player versus mode via netplay.
