About

Kino no Tabi II: The Beautiful World is a PlayStation 2 digital novel and adventure game developed by Zero One and published in Japan by MediaWorks on December 1, 2005.

The March 8, 2007 date associated with this version is for its lower-priced Dengeki SP reissue, rather than the original release.

It follows the 2003 PlayStation 2 game Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World as the second console game based on Keiichi Sigsawa's light-novel series, illustrated by Kouhaku Kuroboshi. It is part of the same franchise that also received a 2003 television anime, but its game content is organized around prose-story material and original game material.

The series premise centers on the traveler Kino and Hermes, a talking motorad. They visit countries with distinct laws, customs, and ways of life, generally staying only three days before continuing their journey.

Kino no Tabi II divides its story into a Novel Part and an Adventure Part. The Novel Part contains ten stories, including the original scenario Iroiro na Hanashi written by series author Keiichi Sigsawa.

In the Adventure Part, the player advances the story as Sei, an original young male protagonist. His journey provides the game-specific thread alongside the episodes featuring Kino and the broader world of Kino no Tabi.
