About
Rocket Power: Zero Gravity Zone is a Game Boy Advance skateboarding game based on Nickelodeon's Rocket Power. Altron developed it and THQ published it in North America on September 4, 2003, bringing the cartoon's extreme-sports crew to a portable, skate-park-focused game.
The action takes place at the Zero Gravity Zone, an indoor amusement-park skate venue. Otto Rocket, Reggie Rocket, Maurice "Twister" Rodriguez, and Sam "Squid" Dullard are the playable Team Rocket Power members, putting the show's four friends at the center of the game rather than adapting one of its beach adventures.
Players skate through eight environments within the park. Courses provide ramps and other terrain for performing tricks, while scattered power-ups support better trick performance and increase the characters' skating abilities.
Career mode gives the game its structured progression, sending the player through its skate-park challenges. Free Skate offers a less directed way to ride the available areas and work on runs without the career framework.
A multiplayer mode lets competitors skate against one another through the Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable. This makes the cable a feature of the original handheld release, not simply a single-player adaptation of the television series.
The four regular skaters are joined by one unlockable character. Together with the selectable modes, secret areas, and power-ups, that provides goals beyond a single pass through the park's eight environments.
