About

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact for PSP is a 2011 action game developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Bandai Namco. Built around the Naruto Shippuden anime and manga, it brings the series' ninja battles to a mission-based handheld format, with Naruto and a large group of allies and rivals at the center of the action.

The main Ultimate Road campaign begins after Naruto returns to the Hidden Leaf Village following his training with Jiraiya. Its chapters revisit major Shippuden events from the Kazekage Rescue arc through the Five Kage Summit period, moving between story scenes, map-based objectives and battles. The route is not limited to Naruto's viewpoint: missions also put other members of the cast into the spotlight as the story's conflicts widen.

Fights take place in 3D arenas where a single ninja can face clusters of opponents before confronting stronger named enemies. Basic strikes, jumps, guards, dashes and thrown ninja tools form the immediate toolkit, while charging chakra opens the way to more powerful techniques. Large attacks can cut through groups at once, giving familiar jutsu a role in both crowd control and boss encounters.

Each character has individual chakra attacks and an Awakening state that can be activated after filling its gauge. These temporary transformations raise the intensity of a battle and reflect the source material's escalating powers. The game also uses cinematic moments and occasional quick-time sequences to give its more important confrontations a sense of scale beyond the standard missions.

Ultimate Road is structured around chapter maps with mandatory events and optional goals. Clearing stages can unlock more missions and playable characters, while completion gauges encourage returning to find remaining rewards. Ninja Points earned in battle are spent on card pieces, upgrades and extras, and equippable character cards can improve statistics or add effects, making the collection system part of building a preferred fighter.

Outside the campaign, Extra Missions provide standalone single-player challenges and a place to use the growing roster. Tag Battle offers specially designed missions with either a computer partner or a second player through PSP ad hoc play, while Versus Battle lets players face one another using customized characters. These modes extend the game's mission focus while letting players train and develop characters who may not have as much time in the central storyline.

Ultimate Ninja Impact belongs to the long-running Naruto: Ultimate Ninja line, but its emphasis is less on a conventional one-on-one fighting game than on clearing groups of enemies across compact stages. That approach gives it a distinct place among Naruto's PSP releases: a portable action adventure that joins recognizable heroes, villains, techniques and story arcs in a single Shippuden-focused campaign.
