About

Tokimeki Memorial 2: Music Video Clips: Circus de Aimashou is a Japan-exclusive PlayStation 2 companion disc released by Konami on April 18, 2002. Developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo (KCET), it is a small, self-contained spin-off of Konami's 1999 PlayStation dating simulation Tokimeki Memorial 2 rather than another full school-life adventure. Its Japanese title, ときめきメモリアル2 ミュージックビデオクリップ サーカスで逢いましょう, places the familiar cast in a circus-themed collection of games and animated character music videos.

The disc is built around short arcade-style attractions instead of the scheduling, stat building, conversations, and dating choices that define the main Tokimeki Memorial games. Players take control of Sumire Nozaki in circus challenges, including acts based around a ring of fire and a tightrope. These compact events are meant to be replayed for points, making the release closer to a reward-driven mini-game package than a conventional sequel.

Progress has a clear purpose: successful play unlocks the video material. The principal rewards are animated music-video clips associated with five Tokimeki Memorial 2 heroines: Hikari Hinomoto, Homura Akai, Kaori Yae, Mei Ijuuin, and Kasumi Asou. That structure gives the disc a simple loop of choosing an attraction, meeting its challenge, improving the result, and opening another piece of character-focused presentation. It also makes the game a showcase for the series' music, voice performances, and anime-style character animation.

Circus de Aimashou belongs to the broad group of Tokimeki Memorial 2 follow-ups that explored the original game's cast outside its central dating-simulation format. The PlayStation original had already received puzzle and story-focused side releases; this PlayStation 2 title instead turns its attention to performance, collectible clips, and brief direct-control challenges. It was issued on a single Japanese PS2 disc, catalogued as SLPM-65118, and its menus and gameplay are in Japanese.

For Tokimeki Memorial 2 fans, the appeal is in revisiting its heroines through a focused piece of related media rather than starting a new three-year school story. The game is a period-specific example of a console companion release: a modest interactive package designed to pair mini-games with unlockable songs and animated videos. Its 2002 PS2 release also illustrates how Konami continued to support the Tokimeki Memorial 2 cast after the main game, using a format that foregrounded the franchise's character songs and presentation.
