About
Scarface: The World Is Yours for PlayStation 2 is an open-world action game set after an alternate ending to the 1983 film. Tony Montana survives the assault on his mansion, loses his fortune and territory, and returns to Miami determined to rebuild his criminal empire and confront Alejandro Sosa.
Played from a third-person perspective, the game lets Tony travel around a fictionalized Miami on foot, by car, or by boat. Story missions and optional jobs lead him through shootouts, chases, negotiations, and confrontations with rival gangs while the city remains available to explore.
Combat combines lock-on shooting with manual aiming, allowing attacks to be directed at individual opponents. Successful actions build Tony's rage meter; when it is full, Blind Rage temporarily changes the action to a first-person view with heightened firepower and recovery.
Reclaiming Miami is also an empire-building task. Tony buys businesses to use as fronts, completes jobs for their owners, defends them from attacks, and takes over storehouses to secure districts. Cocaine deals, supplier leads, and delivery runs provide the goods that keep the operation moving.
Money must be managed alongside reputation and pressure from the authorities and rival gangs. Cash can be laundered at banks, while cop heat and gang heat affect the cost of doing business and raise the risk during the city's criminal activities. Building reputation unlocks further opportunities, properties, and upgrades for Tony's mansion.
Released on PlayStation 2 in 2006, this version was part of the game's original PS2, Xbox, and Windows launch. It uses Al Pacino's likeness as Tony Montana, while André Sogliuzzo provides the character's voice.
