About
Princess Lover! Eternal Love for My Lady for PlayStation 2 is a Japanese romance visual novel released by Comfort on January 28, 2010. Based on Ricotta's 2008 PC title Princess Lover!, this console edition recasts the story as an all-ages adventure and presents its upper-class school drama through illustrated scenes, spoken dialogue, character portraits, and branching text. The player follows Teppei Arima, an ordinary young man whose life changes abruptly after a family tragedy brings him into the orbit of the enormously wealthy Arima family.
Teppei is taken in by his powerful grandfather Isshin, named as a prospective heir to the Arima business group, and enrolled at Shuhou Academy, a school associated with privilege and social standing. The change places him in an unfamiliar world of formal gatherings, family expectations, business rivalries, and elite classmates. His background and new position make every relationship complicated: he must find his footing while navigating the interests attached to the Arima name.
Like many visual novels, Princess Lover! Eternal Love for My Lady is built primarily around reading and choosing. Dialogue and Teppei's narration carry the story until decision points ask the player to select a response or course of action. Those choices steer the narrative toward different character-focused routes, encouraging repeat play to see alternative scenes and endings. It is a single-player experience centered on branching conversations and relationships rather than action challenges, with the pace determined by advancing the text and considering each choice.
The core heroines are Charlotte Hazelrink, a princess from a fictional European principality; Sylvia van Hossen, a skilled fencer connected to an arranged engagement; Seika Houjouin, the forthright daughter of a family that competes with the Arima group; and Yuu Fujikura, Teppei's devoted household attendant. Their contrasting positions give the routes different emotional and social tensions, while Teppei's academy life and responsibilities supply a shared foundation for the story. Supporting figures such as Isshin, Sylvia's family, and Teppei's classmates deepen the setting's mix of domestic, school, and corporate concerns.
Eternal Love for My Lady is specifically the PlayStation 2 version, not a separate sequel. Comfort refreshed the presentation for the console release and expanded the existing material with additional text and event imagery, particularly around dates and character scenes. Its most notable addition is a route for Ayano Kaneko, previously a supporting student in Seika's circle, which promotes her to a full heroine and gives returning players another branch to pursue. The Japanese release was available in standard and first-print limited editions, both dated January 28, 2010.
For PS2 players, the game belongs to the period when PC-originated romance adventures were being adapted for home consoles with revised content and new scenarios. It retains the original premise's emphasis on four principal relationships while using the new Ayano path to distinguish this edition. Princess Lover! also became a broader media property with print adaptations and a television anime, but the PS2 game remains a self-contained route-based telling of Teppei's entry into a society he never expected to join.
