About
The game is set in 19th-century Japan, at the height of the Bakumatsu period, and features the members of the famous Shinsengumi samurai group. The plot follows the historical events of this troubled period, when the Shinsengumi was responsible for maintaining order in Kyoto in the face of the rise of pro-restoration imperial movements. Players take it in turns to embody various members of the Shinsengumi, such as Kondou Isami and Hijikata Toshizō, and must confront the anti-Shogunate forces. The gameplay alternates between exploration, dialogue and sword-fighting. Confrontations combine real-time action and tactical controls, allowing you to coordinate the techniques of the various members of the Shinsengumi. The game emphasises historical reconstruction, with many characters and events drawn from the Bakumatsu period.
