About
2048 is an unofficial NES/Famicom homebrew adaptation of the sliding-tile puzzle game, created by tsone.
Players move numbered tiles across a grid and combine matching values to build larger numbers. The objective is to create a 2048 tile.
Tsone released the NES/FC version and its source materials through the neskit project in 2014. The project was initially tested on PAL hardware; a later revision was tested on NTSC hardware.
The revisions addressed tile-spawning and merge/spawn blinking issues. They also changed the program to NROM-128 and added an out-of-moves notification.
The game uses FamiTone2 for audio. Its font and number-tile graphics were adapted from Oerg866's Mega Drive/Genesis version; tsone credited those contributors while stating that the remaining work, including music, was his.
