Who Wants to Be a Millionaire ? : 3rd Edition

2001 · Jellyvision · Quiz / Trivia · 4+ players

About

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? 3rd Edition is a PlayStation trivia game developed by Jellyvision and published in North America by Sony Computer Entertainment America in 2001.

It adapts the American television quiz-show format. Players answer a run of 15 increasingly difficult multiple-choice questions in pursuit of the virtual $1 million prize.

Regis Philbin appears as host, supplying recorded prompts and comments as the game progresses.

The game includes the three familiar lifelines: 50/50 removes two incorrect answers, Ask the Audience presents audience-poll results, and Phone a Friend plays a prerecorded helper conversation.

Its PlayStation question bank contains 700 all-new questions, and the original release offered additional question sets through its website.

A two-player Fastest Finger round has players place four answers in the correct order; the quickest player becomes the next contestant.

This is the North American PlayStation edition, distinct from the 2002 European PlayStation release, which was developed by Hothouse Creations and published by Eidos Interactive.
