About
Tiger & Bunny Heroes Day PSP is a Japanese single-player adventure game released by D3Publisher on March 20, 2013. Developed by Witchcraft, it adapts the superhero world of TIGER & BUNNY rather than the earlier PSP title Tiger & Bunny On Air Jack!. The game presents a new, fully voiced story written for the game by Erika Yoshida, who also worked on the television anime's scripts. Its setting is Stern Bild, the near-future city where superpowered NEXT heroes protect the public while appearing on the televised Hero TV program.
Instead of placing the player behind one permanent lead, Heroes Day tells the action through the viewpoints of the series' eight principal heroes. Wild Tiger, the veteran Kotetsu T. Kaburagi, and his partner Barnaby Brooks Jr. are joined by Blue Rose, Dragon Kid, Origami Cyclone, Rock Bison, Sky High, and Fire Emblem. Each scenario follows its selected hero across a single day, so the game can shift from professional hero work and public appearances to the personal concerns that surround the team. This structure makes the same city and its events visible from several character perspectives.
The main play is text-led adventure storytelling. Dialogue scenes regularly ask the player to choose a response or action, and those choices can change the route toward a character's ending. Tense encounters use timed battle choices, offering up to four responses while a countdown runs. Choosing incorrectly or letting the time expire reduces the hero's stamina gauge; losing all stamina causes a game over. The mechanic turns action scenes into quick decisions about how a hero should respond, rather than conventional direct combat.
The individual stories are not simply unrelated side episodes. The heroes' separate investigations and incidents build toward a larger plot connected to a theatrical event in the city. Meeting the required conditions opens a climax route, where information gathered across the earlier scenarios is brought together and the identity and aim of the central culprit are revealed. That progression gives the game a reason to revisit the adventure from different perspectives and makes its branching choices part of the route to the complete story.
Heroes Day also includes a collection of fan-oriented extras around its narrative. Event artwork and scenes viewed during play can be revisited, while the database, gallery, and music features document material encountered in the game. Its start-up eyecatches use voiced character messages tied to such things as time, season, and special dates, and the system voice can be set to one of the eight heroes or Yuri Petrov. These presentation features, together with original event illustrations created by anime staff, make Tiger & Bunny Heroes Day PSP a character-focused companion to the 2011 anime rather than an action-game retelling of its main plot.
