About

Sora no Otoshimono: DokiDoki Summer Vacation is a PlayStation Portable adventure game released in Japan on March 25, 2010. Published and developed by Kadokawa Shoten, it adapts the comedy and fantasy world of Suu Minazuki’s Sora no Otoshimono, known internationally as Heaven’s Lost Property. Rather than retelling the whole animated series, this PSP entry presents an original summer storyline centered on Tomoki Sakurai, the ordinary but troublesome student at the heart of the franchise, and Ikaros, the winged Angeloid who has become part of his daily life in Sorami.

The story begins when an accident resets Ikaros’s memory circuitry. With her memories gone and her already reserved manner even harder to read, Tomoki and the other familiar residents of Sorami set out to help her recover what she has lost. Their solution is to give Ikaros new experiences over the course of a summer vacation, turning a character-driven premise into the game’s central objective. It is a self-contained setup that lets the player spend time with the series cast while pursuing a clear goal: guide Ikaros back toward the memories and emotions that define her relationships with the people around her.

Players take the role of Tomoki and progress through an interactive, dialogue-led adventure. The game’s key device is a collection of magical cards brought from the Angeloids’ world. These cards are used to teach Ikaros keywords and influence the situations that follow, so choosing and using cards is more than cosmetic: it can change the course of scenes and events. Communication cards focus on helping Ikaros understand emotions, while costume cards change her outfit and event cards trigger the game’s various summer incidents. The system gives the player a direct part in shaping Ikaros’s responses rather than simply reading a fixed sequence of conversations.

More than 200 cards are available, providing a large set of collectible tools for the game’s Ikaros-focused development element. As cards are used, her reactions can shift across emotional states, with the game framing its progression around the gradual return of expression and feeling. The card collection also feeds into different event outcomes, making the adventure’s scenes dependent on the player’s choices. This blend of visual-novel-style character interaction, card use, and light raising-simulation ideas is the feature that distinguishes DokiDoki Summer Vacation from a straightforward episode adaptation.

Its setting draws on the summer side of Sora no Otoshimono: warm days in Sorami, group outings, and the sort of playful situations that fit the series’ mixture of school comedy, romance, and fantasy. Tomoki, Ikaros, and their friends meet the season through a succession of special events, while the premise keeps Ikaros’s lost identity at the center. Japanese voice work accompanies the dialogue, helping the PSP game retain the animated adaptation’s character-driven presentation. The result is designed around interactions with the established cast and the consequences of the cards chosen along the way.

Sora no Otoshimono: DokiDoki Summer Vacation arrived while the original television anime was still an active part of the franchise’s expansion, making it the series’ first PSP game. Kadokawa Shoten issued both a standard release and a deluxe pack at launch, and the game later returned in Japan in the KADOKAWA The Best budget line on July 28, 2011. It should not be confused with Sora no Otoshimono Forte: Dreamy Season, the separate Nintendo DS game released afterward. For fans of the PSP, DokiDoki Summer Vacation offers a Japan-exclusive interactive side story built around Ikaros, its card-driven branching scenes, and an extended visit to Sorami during summer break.
