Oshare Na Koinu Ds

About

Oshare na Koinu DS is a Nintendo DS pet-fashion and care simulation from MTO, released in Japan on October 18, 2007. Its Japanese title means “Fashionable Puppy DS,” and the game was later localized in other territories as Petz: Dogz Fashion. Rather than treating puppy care as its only attraction, this MTO title makes clothing, accessories, interior design, training and competitions part of one daily routine built around a chosen dog.

The game lets players look after one of eight popular breeds, including Chihuahua, Dachshund and Toy Poodle. A puppy’s look can be changed with a wardrobe of more than 350 items: hats, outfits and accessories can be combined to make an individual style. Some of the featured clothing was tied to real-world shops, giving the virtual wardrobe an extra fashion focus beyond simple colour changes. The idea is not merely to pick an outfit once, but to keep trying combinations and see a familiar puppy in a new light.

Care and customisation extend to the puppy’s home. Players can rearrange its room with more than 300 interior items, making the living space another personal project alongside the dog’s wardrobe. Training is also part of the routine, with the game framing the relationship around living with, looking after and teaching a puppy. Those activities prepare a dog for a wider set of things to do rather than functioning as isolated menus.

Oshare na Koinu DS includes 16 mini-games, and the dressed-up puppy appears in them rather than disappearing behind a separate game mode. This connects the styling side of the simulation to its activities: the dog a player has raised and outfitted remains the star when it is time to play. The range of mini-games supplies shorter challenges between care, training and decorating sessions, adding variety to a format centered on a virtual household pet.

Competitions provide a goal for players who want to show off the results of their work. After training and dressing a dog, players can enter contests and present their puppy, making the game’s fashion choices and care elements feel like parts of a longer progression. The contest setting also distinguishes Oshare na Koinu DS from a more straightforward virtual-pet program: personal style, preparation and presentation are central to its premise.

The Nintendo DS release is primarily a one-player experience, but it supports DS Download Play for two people in compatible mini-game competition. That local option lets a second player join without turning the whole pet-raising adventure into a shared campaign. As a Japanese MTO release, Oshare na Koinu DS belongs to the company’s line of dog and cat-themed handheld simulations, while its overseas Petz: Dogz Fashion identity places the same game within Ubisoft’s Petz branding. Its mix of puppy care, dress-up, room decoration, mini-games and contests captures a distinctly mid-2000s DS approach to an accessible animal simulation.
