WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011

WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011 on PlayStation 2 is a WWE wrestling game built around the Raw and SmackDown brands. Players select from a large lineup of WWE Superstars, Divas and legends, then take them into singles bouts, tag matches, multi-person contests and championship fights.

Matches use the series' familiar combination of strikes, grapples, running attacks, Irish whips, submissions, pins and reversals. Momentum is central to the action: successful offense builds toward signature moves and finishers, while a timely reversal can swing a match back the other way. Wrestlers can also battle around ringside and use the environment during the more permissive rule sets.

The match selection covers specialty events including Steel Cage, Hell in a Cell, Ladder, Tables, TLC, Extreme Rules, Elimination Chamber, Money in the Bank and Royal Rumble. Match Creator lets players set rules and win conditions of their own, adjusting details such as disqualifications, count-outs, rope breaks, eliminations and Falls Count Anywhere.

WWE Universe turns individual matches into an ongoing calendar of shows and pay-per-views. Results, rivalries, allies and title pursuits feed into generated match cards and scenes, giving players a changing season to follow while still allowing them to alter cards, teams and other setup choices.

Road to WrestleMania supplies character-led story paths for John Cena, Chris Jericho, Christian and Rey Mysterio, plus a route centered on challenging The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak. Its backstage areas create opportunities for conversations, optional tasks and confrontations between scheduled matches, and choices can affect how each storyline develops.

The PS2 version also includes creation tools for making wrestlers, entrances, move sets and finishing moves, as well as Story Designer for assembling custom WWE events. Exhibition matches support couch competition, so friends can take control of different wrestlers or sides in the same match and settle the result in the ring.
