About

Stuart Little 2 for Game Boy Advance is a 2002 action-platform game from Creations (also credited as Software Creations) and Activision. Built as a tie-in to Columbia Pictures' family-film sequel, this handheld version puts players in control of Stuart, the tiny adopted mouse, for an adventure across a stylized New York setting. It was released in the United States in July 2002 and is a separate game from the Stuart Little 2 releases for PC and PlayStation, with its own side-view 2D design tailored to Nintendo's portable system.

The story follows the film's central predicament. Stuart becomes friends with Margalo, a canary who comes into the Littles' lives, while Mrs. Little's wedding ring also goes missing. When Margalo disappears, Stuart sets out to uncover what happened and recover both losses. The Falcon, the bird threatening Margalo in the film, provides the danger behind the rescue mission. Rather than retelling the movie as a passive sequence, the game turns its key situations into a chain of playable challenges for the mouse-sized hero.

Platforming is the foundation of the Game Boy Advance adventure. Stuart runs, jumps and dodges hazards and opponents as he works through ten single-player levels, but the game changes the activity from stage to stage. Its set pieces include racing, skateboarding, driving, piloting a biplane and travelling by helium balloon. Those changes give the film adaptation several different kinds of movement challenges while keeping the search for Margalo and the ring as the overall objective.

The portable presentation takes advantage of Stuart's scale: ordinary surroundings can become oversized routes for a small character, and the game sends him through locations and situations inspired by the film. It also includes voice material and sound effects associated with the movie. The result is a compact licensed platformer whose progression mixes obstacle courses with vehicle and flying sequences instead of limiting Stuart to one style of play.

Stuart Little 2 also has a competitive option for two players with a Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable. In these linked races, players can compete as Stuart or Margalo, giving the otherwise single-player story a head-to-head mode. The game arrived alongside the 2002 film as part of the wider Stuart Little screen franchise, itself derived from E. B. White's children's novel, but its Game Boy Advance edition stands on its own as a purpose-built 2D adventure rather than a portable conversion of the other console releases.
