About

The Game of Life is a North American PlayStation adaptation of the classic board game, released on September 30, 1998. The Collective developed this version, and Hasbro Interactive published it.

One to six players travel around a 3D board by spinning the wheel and moving car tokens. Players choose between college and a career, then follow the instructions of the spaces they land on while trying to build the strongest retirement total.

The journey includes decisions about work, marriage, starting a family, home ownership and insurance. Players select cars and characters, and can play alongside other people or computer-controlled opponents.

Classic mode recreates the board-game format with LIFE tiles. Enhanced mode replaces those tiles with Life's Little Games, a set of game-show-style minigames, and changes some board-game outcomes.

The PlayStation presentation includes a first-person Car-Cam view from a token's windshield, an announcer, dynamic board animations and music spanning several decades. It supports standard and analog controllers, memory-card saving, and up to six players with a Multi Tap.
