About

Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 for PSP is Konami’s portable association-football simulation from late 2012. Developed and published by Konami, it brings that season’s Pro Evolution Soccer to PlayStation Portable, where it was released in Europe in October and North America in November. It is the PSP version of the wider multi-platform PES 2013 release, so its focus is on playing full football matches with licensed competition presentation and a substantial selection of club and international sides.

At its center, PES 2013 is a match game built around moving the ball, finding space and turning possession into goals. Players direct their team on the pitch, switching control between footballers while attacking and defending. Passing, shooting, dribbling, tackling and positioning all matter as play moves from patient buildup to quick breaks. The controls also support a more deliberate first touch and manual input options, allowing players to influence the direction and force of passes or shots rather than relying entirely on assistance.

The game is structured for different ways to play. Exhibition-style matches offer a direct route onto the pitch, while league and tournament formats let players take a chosen side through a season or knockout competition. Training activities provide drills and practice situations for learning the game’s moves and refining shooting, dribbling and defensive play. These options make the PSP release suited to a quick single match as well as longer sessions built around a selected team’s results.

PES 2013 emphasizes the contrast between players on the same squad. Its Player ID approach was designed to give selected real-world stars more recognizable movement and ball-playing traits, reinforcing the importance of choosing the right player for a run, pass or finish. Team tactics are equally important: formations, player roles and substitutions can shape how a side presses, protects a lead or creates chances. The result is a football game that asks players to read the flow of a match as well as execute individual actions.

The PSP edition arrived near the end of the system’s commercial life, continuing Konami’s long-running portable football series. In Japan and South Korea, the game was released as World Soccer: Winning Eleven 2013, reflecting the regional name used for the same franchise. For fans looking for a 2012–13-era football game on PlayStation Portable, Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 combines familiar PES team play, portable match sessions and seasonal competition modes in one handheld package.
