About
Disney Fairies: Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure for Nintendo DS is a 2009 adventure game from Disney Interactive Studios, released alongside the second Disney Fairies film. It puts players in the role of Tinker Bell, the inventive tinker fairy from Pixie Hollow, during the preparations for the Autumn Revelry. A damaged moonstone threatens the Pixie Dust Tree, sending Tink on a journey north of Never Land to put things right. The game adapts the film's central quest while presenting it as an interactive DS adventure.
The story mode moves through Pixie Hollow and its surrounding locations as Tinker Bell meets familiar fairies, takes on errands, gathers useful objects, and works toward the search for the Mirror of Incanta. Conversations, requests, and map-to-map travel give the adventure its structure. Rather than following the film scene for scene, the Nintendo DS game lets its quest unfold through tasks and short activities built around Tink's tinkering talent.
Touch controls are central to Disney Fairies: Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure. Players use the stylus to guide Tinker Bell, select people and objects, and handle repair activities. Different jobs call for direct actions such as tracing a damaged item's groove or rubbing away marks. The Nintendo DS microphone also has a role in certain challenges, where blowing can create wind or clear dust. These small interactions make the hardware part of the game’s craft-themed play.
Exploration also introduces gesture-based fairy abilities. Holding the stylus above Tinker Bell can make her glow to reveal hidden objects, while drawn shapes can trigger moves such as a somersault or wake plants. Insects can be interacted with using the touch screen, and the results can help with collecting items. The design combines a free-roaming Pixie Hollow with minigames, keeping the focus on discovery, collecting, and hands-on tasks instead of conventional combat.
Away from the main quest, Fairy Mode expands the game with character and outfit customization. Players can create fairy looks, arrange clothing and accessories, and take part in activities including collecting dew drops, painting ladybugs, and gathering thread from silkworms. A Friendship Meter tracks Tinker Bell’s standing with other characters; speaking with them, completing requests, and offering suitable gifts can strengthen those relationships, while neglect or unsuitable gifts can have the opposite effect.
The Nintendo DS release also included multiplayer features and DGamer functionality, as well as connections to the former Pixie Hollow online world. Those elements positioned the cartridge as part of the broader Disney Fairies experience rather than only a film tie-in. With its stylus-led repairs, microphone-based actions, customization, and story set around the Autumn Revelry, Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure is a distinctly Nintendo DS entry in the Disney Fairies series.
