Minecraft for TIC-80 is a compact sandbox game created and published by derpguy125 for the TIC-80 fantasy computer platform in January 2018. Despite sharing the name of Mojang's much larger game, this is a separate community-made project: its own creator describes it as a Minecraft-inspired clone. The game turns the familiar appeal of placing blocks into a small-scale TIC-80 cartridge built around experimenting and making things.

The central activity is creative construction. Players work with a selection of 33 block types, giving the project a defined set of materials with which to arrange a world of their own. Rather than framing the experience around a scripted campaign or a fixed ending, the cartridge presents building itself as the purpose. That focus makes each session an opportunity to test layouts, combine different block designs, and see what can be assembled from the available pieces.

Minecraft TIC-80 also adds environmental variation to the block-building setup. A day-and-night cycle changes the backdrop over time, while three weather types bring further changes to the scene. Alongside its construction tools, the game includes a sword, one of several playful touches noted by its developer. The original release description also points to Easter eggs, including a block based on the creator's face. Those small details fit the homemade character of the cartridge: it is a personal interpretation of a well-known sandbox idea, made for the TIC-80 community rather than an official version of Minecraft.

Released through the TIC-80 game catalogue, Minecraft is representative of the platform's collection of independently created cartridges, demakes, and experiments. Its modest 33-block palette, changing sky conditions, weather effects, and open-ended building premise make it a concise creative project for players interested in exploring a Minecraft-like concept on TIC-80.
