About

FIFA Soccer 07 for Game Boy Advance is EA Sports' 2006 football game for Nintendo's 32-bit handheld. Released in Europe in late September and in North America on October 3, it was published by EA Sports and developed for this version by Exient Entertainment. It is a distinct portable edition of FIFA 07, not a conversion of the PlayStation 2, Xbox, PC, PSP, or Xbox 360 releases; its play is built around a top-down, diagonal view of the pitch and the constraints of the GBA's buttons and screen.

The central activity is a real-time association-football match. Choose a side, move play up and down the field, pass between teammates, win possession, and create the opening for a shot. The compact control layout makes each button do more than one job: the shoulder button modifies a normal pass into a through ball and a shot into a long pass. That arrangement puts short combinations, forward balls, and switches of play at the center of attacking decisions while defending depends on positioning and getting the ball back.

Licensed teams and players provide the season's football setting. The Game Boy Advance package advertises more than 500 clubs, 12,000 players, and 19 tournaments, while the game accommodates club and international fixtures. Quick matches let players select teams and start a game immediately, and the cartridge supports head-to-head multiplayer for two people with a Game Boy Advance Link Cable and a copy of the game for each participant. Its menus, crowd noise, and portable match format keep the focus on fitting a football fixture into a handheld session.

For a longer campaign, FIFA Soccer 07 GBA includes a five-year Career Mode centered on managing a club. Career matches set objectives such as protecting a lead or recovering from a deficit; completing goals earns prestige points as the campaign progresses. The mode also lets players set formations and choose substitutes, giving it a streamlined managerial layer alongside the on-pitch action. A career ticker follows the progress of that season-based mode rather than turning the GBA edition into the more elaborate management simulations found elsewhere in the series.

The game arrived as one of the final FIFA releases on Game Boy Advance and as the last FIFA entry issued for the system. Its version-specific design matters when comparing FIFA 07 across platforms: the console and PC editions had their own development teams and feature sets, and the Xbox 360 edition used a new engine. Exient's GBA cartridge instead preserves FIFA's licensed football framework in a smaller, two-player-capable package, with immediate fixtures and a concise club career tailored to the handheld.
