About

Bugs Bunny: Lost in Time for PlayStation is a 1999 single-player 3D platform game developed by Behaviour Interactive and published by Infogrames. Built around Warner Bros.' Looney Tunes characters, it sends Bugs on a comic detour after he takes a wrong turn while heading for Pismo Beach. A peculiar machine transports him to an in-between place called Nowhere, where the wizard Merlin Munroe explains that the rabbit must gather the symbols needed to operate the route home. The PlayStation release was joined by a Windows version later in 1999, but this adventure was designed around Bugs navigating large, self-contained stages from a third-person viewpoint.

The central goal is to collect clocks. They are placed in the levels, awarded for completing objectives, and used to open further destinations through the time machine. Golden carrots form a second progression currency, while ordinary carrots restore Bugs' health. This gives each area more to do than simply reaching an exit: a player can search for collectibles, meet a stage-specific task, and return to unlock routes that were previously unavailable. Red ACME crates also reward thorough exploration; clearing every crate in a stage can yield another clock.

Before the larger eras open, Nowhere acts as an introduction to Bugs' move set. He can run, jump, kick, carry or shift certain objects, climb ropes, and use rabbit holes to travel below ground. A cautious tiptoe helps him avoid attracting some opponents, while his ears can be used like a small rotor to soften a fall. Enemies call for different responses rather than one universal attack: some are dispatched with a kick or jump, and others are more safely handled by making a pursuer exhaust itself. Merlin expands Bugs' options later in the journey, so new abilities and the accumulating clock total steadily broaden what can be reached.

The time machine connects five themed periods: the Stone Age, medieval times, pirate years, a 1930s cartoon-inspired setting, and the more fantastical Dimension X. Across those settings, the familiar Looney Tunes style is carried by hazards, visual jokes, and encounters with characters including Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Witch Hazel, Rocky, and Marvin the Martian. The setup deliberately makes room for many kinds of comic set piece, from prehistoric landscapes to pirate locations and storybook castles, instead of tying the game to one cartoon short. Some challenges shift the pace with chase or racing-style sequences alongside the usual exploration and platforming.

Rather than presenting its stages as one fixed line, Bugs Bunny: Lost in Time lets the player choose among the places made available by their clocks and golden carrots. That structure makes the hunt for missed items part of the game's forward movement, and it suits a character whose travels are framed as a succession of theatrical cartoon worlds. A memory card save uses one block on PlayStation, and the game supports one player, with compatibility for the PlayStation Analog Controller and vibration. Its period-specific levels, collectible-driven access, and full 3D interpretation of Bugs made it a notable late-1990s Looney Tunes adventure.

The game also occupies a distinct place in its developer's early catalogue: Behaviour Interactive was then credited as Behaviour, and its team included lead designer and art director Claude Pelletier, lead programmer Martin Ross, and director Rob Sebastian. Voice performers associated with the game include Billy West as Bugs and Elmer and Joe Alaskey as Daffy, Rocky, and other Looney Tunes roles, helping the presentation connect its gameplay to the animated cast. Bugs Bunny: Lost in Time was later followed by Bugs Bunny & Taz: Time Busters, another time-travel platform game, but the original remains focused entirely on Bugs' solo effort to collect enough clocks and carrots to get back where he meant to be.
