As always the story in Atelier Judie is just a convenient excuse to have you do as much alchemy as possible. It goes like this: alchemist Judie meets an adventurer who asks her to create an item for him, the Dragon's Hourglass that can stop time. Unfortunately Judie drops a hair in the mixture, which promptly explodes and throws her 200 years into the future. There she meets a moneylender, Vitus, who sets her up with an atelier in the village of Vern. Join Judie as she attempts to pay off her debt to Vitus while recreating the Dragon's Hourglass to send her back to her own time. That's pretty much it.
