Celeste Classic 2

Celeste Classic 2: Lani's Trek is a PICO-8 platformer released in January 2021. It follows a climb around a mountain and was made in three days for Celeste's third anniversary.

Maddy Thorson and Noel Berry handled level design and coding, with Berry also credited for art. Lena Raine created the sound and music, and Kevin Regamey tested the game.

This is a sequel to Celeste Classic, the earlier PICO-8 game. It is separate from the 2018 commercial release of Celeste.

The platforming centers on running, jumping, wall-jumping, and a grappling hook. The hook can attach to surfaces and certain objects, letting the player move across gaps or pull holdable objects into reach.

The climb also uses hazards and interactive elements including falling snowballs, springboards, breakable blocks, checkpoints, and collectible strawberries.
